Overtime worksheet
Fifty-two weeks, one column of hours. The sheet finds the part of your overtime that counts for the deduction.
Estimate only, not tax advice. Your return is decided by the IRS forms and instructions, and a tax professional can check your numbers.
How each week is counted
The IRS describes the weekly formula this way: FLSA hours over 40 in the workweek, times one half, times the FLSA regular rate. This sheet uses it for every row. Weeks under 40 hours add nothing. Take the total to the overtime calculator to apply the cap and phase-out.
What the paid worksheet adds
The Overtime Worksheet ($4.99, one-time) prints without the footer line, exports a CSV, combines up to 4 jobs or W-2s and adds a one-page summary of overtime, tips and car loan interest for your preparer. See pricing.

Questions
What does the worksheet calculate?
For each week, hours over 40 times one half of your regular rate. The yearly total is the qualified overtime premium, the number the deduction starts from.
Why check it against my W-2?
For 2026 your employer reports qualified overtime in box 12 code TT. If your own total is quite different, ask the employer how they counted.
Is my data sent anywhere?
No. The weekly hours stay in your browser. Only the optional email at checkout is sent to us.
What is free?
The on-screen worksheet and a one-job PDF with a small footer line. The paid worksheet removes the line, adds CSV, combines several jobs and adds a one-page summary for your preparer.
Does the regular rate include bonuses?
Sometimes. Under the FLSA, the regular rate can include certain bonuses and shift pay. If yours varies, ask your employer for the regular rate by week.
